5" wide. Distinguished by the dramatic Double Sweep, the design contains corners with dual foci. A small cabochon on a peaked setting and a larger cabochon held closer to the sight edge of the base by the surrounding shell carving. Extensive open work around cabochon corners and shell centers. At the rear, corners are connected to the rear sweep, by an extended shell ornament. The tight, clean, repeated lambstongue lip is indicative of the Directoire Period.
